What is Your Gift to the World?

I’ve begun a bit of a lifestyle walkabout that I’m calling CATALYST.

I ask myself:

What can I create that is so freaking uniquely me, yet so uniquely valuable that it inspires, it engages, and it enriches someone’s life?

Sometimes it’s overwhelming to think about it that way.

It makes me feel like I have to create something huge, something amazing, and something groundbreaking.

When the truth is I don’t have to create anything. I have to first just BE.

Because I am amazing and groundbreaking.

You are amazing and groundbreaking.

If we learn to live with beauty, passion and love in our hearts, by virtue of universal law we will share that with the world.

We will love, we will write, we will craft, we will create.

So what is your gift to the world?

Your life should be a gift to the world.

The way you live, the way you love, the way you work can be a gift to this world.

The way you smile, the way you laugh, the way you grieve can be a gift to this world.

The way you are is a gift to this world. And your art should reflect that gift.

  1. Sometimes I really need that reminder. It doesn’t have to be “huge” or “wow” — I just have to be “me” and whatever I do will be “enough”. Thanks for this wonderful post!

  2. Thank you so much for your post. This is beautiful and exactly what I needed today. I plan to use your brief thought as a starting point for a conversation with the students I work with everyday. I’m going to create a bulletin board with their gifts to the world and I want to use your post as a part of that board.
