so, you’ve seen little miniature christmas villages, you’ve seen model train sets, you’ve seen those flat wood building facades – but you’ve never seen anything like this before. beth & carrie, of 1canoe2 have created a kit so that you can create a tiny village of letterpress paper house.

i had to know what inspired this fabulous product!

Carrie’s mom kept suggesting that we make paper dolls. We both LOVE houses and architecture, and we’re not much for girlie stuff, so paper dolls didn’t really appeal to us, but we really liked the concept of a kit…so it just grew from there. We want to make this a whole series with different styles of houses/buildings and in different settings–like the big city, country, etc.

We are pretty focused on making useable items–like the recipe card box and address file, instead of making just prints and cards. We want people to truly use their hands and interact with our artwork. We have so many more ideas–if only we didn’t have jobs to do!
