I love the juxtaposition of industrial and organic design aesthetics in the jewelry from Bud and Branch. Carrie, the designer behind Bud and Branch, is an art teach, mother, and silversmith, working out of her home studio.
As in the Seed Pod Necklace above, Carrie takes a special interest in designing pieces that sit near your clavicle. She says, "I also focus on how a necklace will sit on the chest and neck when it is worn. Several of my pieces are meant to sit around the clavicle area as I find this part of the body to be quite lovely and I want to accentuate it."
All of Carrie's pieces are hand cut, hand soldered, and hammered. Many of oxidized to bring out the unique texture created in the design process.
For a full interview with Carrie from Bud and Branch, check out my post on Handmade in PA.

A love of cooking + an interest in working with metals = 3 squares jewelry. Jean Cameron creates funky pieces with metal and other materials, like fabric, stamps, paper prints and maps. The names and descriptions of the pieces are as fun as the jewelry.

(or your flip-flops as the case may be.) i fell hard & fast for these incredible necklaces as soon as our eyes met! love the balance achieved in their asymmetrical forms - sort of like a mobile. how becoming! the designer, Tuyen Huynh, is a fashion designer who says that her jewelry is "an excess of folly, a wave of creativity and 3 cups of patience." thanks for being such a patient person so we could enjoy the fruits of your labor, Tuyen!
