perfect imperfection

the title of this post is also this artist’s perception of the world, particularly his own work. i second that statement completely! he took his first ceramics class at the age of 8, and it made a lasting impression. a series of assorted jobs throughout his life eventually led him back to clay, and these experiences inform his designs in many respects. he creates unique terra cotta clay pieces, with hand drawn designs etched into the slip. patterns range from silly collector plates (bob and sam are pictured here) to simple lines, circles and hashes. a nice alternative to overdone, overdesigned pieces…sometimes simple is stately. other mentionables: plates, cups and adorable footed dishes.
