passion is – knack studios

i love knack studios. looooove it!! salvaged furniture…beautiful lines…elegant details…distinctive hardware…redesigned lighting fixtures…unconventional pillows and accessories…what’s not to love! Barb Blair definitely has a knack for refurbishing furniture and breathing new life into each piece. it all started 8 years ago, when she repainted her kitchen cabinets to save a few beans. she fell in love with the process and began to dabble with other projects, which people quickly began to notice…and knack studios was born.

these days, in addtion to hunting for pieces with great bones that she can rehab with paint and eclectic details, she brings in handmade pieces from different artists all over the country and world that complement her pieces and complete the “look” that she’s going for. Discerning style that creates a very pulled-together look without being fussy…

here’s what Barb had to say about passion in her work:

Passion for me is transformation. If I had to think of one word to describe what drives me, it would be this one. The whole process of transforming  the old into the “new”…… bringing beauty where there was none…is truly exciting for me. The whole re-surfacing and re-contextualization challenges both my mind and abilities every time and takes me places I never thought I could go.

thank you for sharing, Barb! keep the fire burnin’.
