If you’re going to host a party, you need party hats, right? Okay, so maybe not every sophisticated shindig requires pointy hats. But if you’re going to host a fun family get together or kids’ birthday party, hats are a must. Here’s a super easy tutorial you can use to create these hats, and you likely already have most of the supplies.
DIY Simple Party Hats – what you need:
- scrapbook paper
- plastic leis (like the type you get at luau parties or you can find them at the dollar store)
- hot glue
Start by taking the scrapbook paper and bending it into a cone. Secure it with hot glue, and then cut off the excess paper at the bottom so that it can sit flat.
Cut a small hole about 1/2 inch from the bottom on both sides of the hat. String the elastic through the holes and tie it in place.
Cut the lei and secure it around the bottom of the hat with the glue. Then take a short section of it and glue it to the top point of the hat.
Done! You can use different colors and designs of paper to make this hat festive for different party themes. Have fun and get creative customizing them for your next party!
