If you love coffee as much as I do, then you probably have a French press somewhere in your home. But did you know you can actually add your own personal touch to your French press? This simple tutorial shows you how to add a frosted glass effect to your French press, and it’s actually really easy to customize with your own design.
DIY Etched Glass French Press Supplies:
- French press
- painter’s tape
- etching cream
Start by very carefully cleaning the glass of your French press so that the etching cream is able to work. Then you’ll have to create some stencils with painter’s tape. I chose to create a really simple geometric pattern. If you’d like to do something similar, just cut small geometric shapes from the tape and stick them onto the glass parts of the French press, evenly spaced.
Then you just need to apply the etching cream. Pay attention to the directions on the bottle. But basically, you’ll need to apply the etching cream with a paintbrush over the glass and then rinse it off with water. Use a sponge if necessary. Let it dry and then remove the painter’s tape stencils. That’s it! Now you have a one-of-a-kind French press to add just a little something extra to your at-home coffee drinking experience or gathering.
