Thanks for your interest in Scoutie Girl! We’d love to hear from you.

Our assistant editor, Carrie, reviews all emails. She’d love to hear from you with questions, ideas, and comments. Because our focus is on conversation & community, we generally don’t accept submissions about products or designers.

However, we LOVE to read stories & philosophies about products or designers. If you’ve got something interesting to say about your work and a conversation to start about your ideas, we want to hear from you.

If you’re interested in submitting a guest post, use the form below. Although pitches are okay, a full post is much appreciated. We will get back to you if we’d like you to edit your piece or if we’d like to use it. You retain full rights to your work – you only grant Scoutie Girl the right to publish your piece. Please keep in mind that Scoutie Girl is about thinking outside-the-box, creative living, and innovative ideas for the creative community. Posts on those topics are most likely to be accepted!

    Hi Tara,

    Thought you might be interested in our blog.

    We are a sister-owned design collaborative who started 2010 with a simple challenge to our clients and colleagues: to Love What Matters.

    Our push to make some sort of positive change in the world has grown into what may become an animal with legs to run, so to speak, so we’re strategizing about our visibility and promotion as we grow the concept. I’m interested in learning more about your advertising rates as well.

    Check us out at http://www.2010-love.com. We donate 10% of the proceeds from our shirt sales to Slow Food USA, and would like to elevate our giving in the spring months.

    Love the blog, by the way… you inspired me to go “knock down some damn doors” today!

    Dear Tara,

    I am a mum at home who makes kids and women’s clothing using repurposed fabrics. My aim is to make unique colorful casual wear with an eco conscience.

    I am trying to increase my online presence and got inspired by the article you wrote in the DailyWorth. I have a shop on Etsy and receive their various newsletters, including the one that referred to that article.

    I expect you must be submerged with emails of this kind, and I appreciate you taking the time to check out my shop: pioupioukids.etsy.com as well as my blog: pioupioukids.blogspot.com
    Here’s also a recent review of one of my garments (with a giveaway!): http://doesmommyloveit.com/2010/04/26/upcycled-organic-clothing-from-piou-piou-kids/

    I’ve also started reading your blog and will keep coming back to it for more advice!

    Warm regards,
    Natacha

    Hi Tara-
    I just read your wonderful article in daily worth and it came at a good time for me, so thank you!
    I’m a photographer by profession (been doing it for 20 + years now), but have always had a passion for jewelry. I taught myself basic techniques and have been building on that knowledge for about 5 years now. I have had the joy and satisfaction of watching my designs evolve and my skills grow and moreover, I have really enjoyed making people happy with my jewelry!
    I just recently opened a shop on Etsy.com and would love for you to take a look and let me know your thoughts.
    I firmly believe that everyone deserves a little beauty and luxury in their lives, no matter what their budgets are. To that end, I create one-of-a-kind jewelry that is well made, classic and affordable with that unique touch of inspiration from nature. The more I do this, the more I love it and hope that I may have a second career as a jewelry designer in time.
    My shop is at http://www.beadedtortoise.etsy.com.
    Thanks for the great blog here (I’ll definitely be back) and for the fab article – it was a kick in the pants that I needed.
    Best,
    Christina Falise

    I just read your article on Daily Worth and found it so inspiring!
    I am currently working in Retail Hell and am trying to give the handmade art a go. I have yet to make the leap to full time artist but it is simmering in the back of my mind.
    I am a self taught seamstress and I make handbags. They are durable, functional and beautiful. They are all designed by and handmade by me. I love to sew and to be able to do it full time is my dream. I would love a little feedback from someone other than my husband and friends. I have made a few sales in my Etsy shop (www.brazenbags.etsy.com) and am currently trying to get my stuff into some boutiques and galleries in Canada.
    Thanks again for a very inspiring article. I really want to make my dream of being a stay at home mom and entrepreneur a reality. You gave me a bit of hope that it is not a pipe dream. People might actually pay me what I am worth.
    Thanks!
    Melanie

    I just had to comment and agree with the above posters, I love love loved your DailyWorth article and funnily I was reading it not knowing it was you and then I recognized your name at the end so now everything I read on Scoutiegirl is more meaningful to me!

    Hello Tara, I’ve read the comments here and I have to agree with them and also I got to know about you from the same article featured in Daily Worth, through the Etsy Newsletter.. it is excellent. Since then I’ve been follow your excellent articles and recommendations. They’ve been of so much help in different occasions, and well I’ve also featured 2 of your articles in my own blog, almost in a row! hehe. Here they are:

    * Labels, What’s yours?

    * Living a creative life

    I have my own etsy shop, I make handbags, purses and pouches, also many other crafts, but my store is -for now- about the bags. I intend to open another store with my jewelry with different materials, but still don’t have enough time to sit down and create more of them. I also have good traffic in my shop, but few sales. I guess I’m lacking of a good marketing/advertising campaign. Hope your ideas can help me to continue my way and lift from the ground. Thanks for such a wonderful website full of great thoughts and ideas from such a wonderful girl!
