I so needed this right now! I thank God every day that I found Scoutie Girl! It’s like having a personal creativity coach and it’s such a blessing. Thank you for all you put out there!

I find that I get discouraged easily. I find that I get discouraged when I can not stay completely focused on a project. I find that I get lost in details because they either overwhelm me or the anal/ocd side kicks in and I can’t get perfectly do things. However, if I go back frequently and browse ideas I somehow manage to stay focused and inspired-which is the kick-in-the-pants I need. I am very thank to my Mom and my Husband for their encouragement.

I love this post. Not only is the advice spot-on, but it’s written compassionately. I like being told right off that yes, I’m good enough to get somewhere. We need more people in the world saying that.

I actually have a literal book for things I want to do. I call it a Focus Book, and it’s a series of checklists. I’ll set a few goals for myself every day.

I think the thing I struggle with most is having so many things I want to do. So I do a little of each, and I lose track of just how much I’m achieving because so many things are in the beginning stage.

I also struggle with the urge to hibernate when it gets colder — which is what’s happening right now. Maybe I’m part bear? Grrrrr. ;)

I so look forward to your posts, they keep me inspired! I’m not discouraged to easy, thats just their opinion and they are entitled to, and I tell them so,lol.
I have my gift boutique open now, my daughter did not give me any good feedback, but its like I told her, thats your opinion.

    YES!
I’m finding the most challenging part for me is fighting the overwhelm. The to-do list is never-ending & just looking at it some days is so daunting… I’ve been trying to manage this by carving out the 5 most important tasks, doing them, then going back to the master list & picking 5 more. I prioritize by asking myself “which tasks will make me money today” and “which tasks are important to my customer today”. This helps me weed out what’s truly critical to drive my business from all the rest of the to-do’s I’ve assigned myself.

I still have a secret desire to one day actually CATCH UP on the whole list. But is this even realistic?? :)

Funny thing is, I’m fine with rules 2 and 3 … it’s rule #1 that I struggle with.
It’s just so easy and comfortable to hide in that corner when the alternative is scary and often overwhelming.
I think I’m going to put rule #1 up, real BIG, on my cork board!

And I love Sarah’s “Focus Book.” I do something similar to help keep track of every little thing I have to do but I’ve never given it a name. Cute!
