very interesting and inspiring. I always love to get to know the faces behind the shop names at Etsy, and Danielle is obviously a highly motived and interesting person. Great reminder that crap can lead to good stuff in the end, too!

Rachel, thanks so much! I also always appreciate getting to see who it is behind the shop and so I guess that motivates me as well! :) thanks for your sweet comment!

I just love this: “…don’t follow someone else’s path. Be proud of your own ideas and nurture them.” So very, very true! You go girl!

Love this, Danielle and Jess! I especially love this:

“I believe that people like to buy from and promote people who they know and trust and who they find to be likeable.”

It totally goes against what you hear so much about how your friends won’t buy from you but I think you are right on, especially in the handmade world. I am MUCH more likely to buy from and promote (via the blogs I write on, Twitter, etc.) people I like. I think you do this so well and it shows in the strength and supportiveness of your network.

such an inspiring story! thanks for sharing, Danielle… I’m a big fan of your etsy shop! I especially love what you say at the end: “Your own artistic vision is your most valuable resource, don’t lose track of it because without it you’re basically just drifting.” this is so true. whenever I’m most in tune with myself and my vision, I feel on track, purposeful, and happy.

    all the best to you!
