You’re so spot on about time allotted and momentum. I have more than one project languishing because as time went on, it sucked my motivation and enthusiasm for it. There’s that immediate gratification that I need in order to stay enthusiastic about a project. I suppose it goes back to Seth Godin’s “make it and ship it” philosophy on art making.

This is awesome! And, just what I needed to hear. I’m currently taking care of my 21 month old daughter and rewriting my entire creative nutrition program. I’ve let my deadline slip by and, like you said, i’m losing the motivation and enthusiam for it. i kept thinking, maybe this isn’t what i want to be doing b/c of the lack feelings…but now i totally see why after reading this! before i got pregnant and worked on writing my program and marketing materials in no time b/c i had all the time in the world to dedicate to it..now that i’m a mommy, i’m not used to the breaks in my schedule for writing…so, this is GREAT! and, i def. get sidetracked – i’m halfway done, but you’ve inspired me to FOCUS and get it done…because i’m SUPER eager to get it out there (like you said!) but then i get bummed b/c i feel like it’s taking me forever.

It was mainly this article that inspired me today to finnnallly set up a Etsy store and list my first necklace. I even had to shop for some materials ad finished it today, when it usually takes me forever to even take a picture of it. Now it’s already in a store. Not because it’s even that special, pretty or perfect. It was a momentum test, and I must say it tastes like more. It moves me away from the not good enough stream of thought. Thank you, Tara and Leonie!

What a fabulous interview! I’m totally on a roll with this concept as well. I’ve learned that I have to RELEASE my own perfectionism which is really just fear of putting myself out there! I think another important aspect of this is allowing yourself to PLAY in your work, find the joy in the moment and don’t over think it. Thank you both!

That was very inspiring. I’ve been having trouble recently with momentum. Sometimes it’s hard to just get started and keep the focus. But I guess you have to just do it and keep going. Make it happen. Bring out your magic touch and that’s how you’ll succeed.
Thank you for encouraging me to get stuff done.
