take a seat with matt condron

I have a teeny tiny confession to make. I am kind of a chair fiend/freak. My husband and I have so many chairs, there are actually a few in storage because we don’t have enough room for them all in our house. So, when I came across a collection of oil paintings and prints from Portland, Oregon artist Matt Condron, I realized I could continue my obsession and expand to wall space instead of just floor space.

Matt’s collection of limited edition prints, which can be found in his Etsy shop in several different sizes, often feature these incredible 70s style chairs.

But what you won’t find in his work? The human figure. Matt’s paintings are typically void of people, so that the viewer can enter the the space or narrative themselves.

  1. Ha! I also love chairs, but my current situation is exactly the opposite of yours – we have almost no seating in our house! Somehow I don’t think Matt’s painting will quite solve my problem. They are amazing, though. At first I thought they were photographs!

Thanks for the introduction to his work, Brittni. It’s wonderful! Print of “Infatuation Limited” and “101″ are now on my wish list.

I love your confession of being a chair fiend! What a neat collection! And the idea to now add them to your walls is fun!
