Thanks for this much needed reminder. I’ve been guilty of burning myself out the past few weeks and I definitely need to take a break (after this weekend’s yard sale ;)

“I am not so important that the world won’t survive without me”

    Perfect :)

Sometimes we turn creativity into an obligation. Thanks for the reminder!

I totally agree about taking a break. Every one needs down time. Excellent article to reinforce the idea.

I just got back from Burning Man. I could use a another week, at least, without internet, email, phone, txt, twitter, etc. It felt so good, I didn’t even check email when I got back> I had to force myself.

I’m just nodding my head “yes” right now…everything you said struck home for me. It’s so true that I find I’m more creative after I’ve given myself time to relax and do different things. It’s hard to stop working though when you’re in that mode – but it’s like trying to force creativity then!

This is a well timed reminder about not taking ourselves so seriously, success should be measured in the special moments we have with our loved ones and not sales or #’s of $’s in the bank. Thanks for reminding me of that important point!

I did the EXACT same thing last week! I took time off from my day job and aside from a very small amount of time spent making and photographing some jewelry, I just relaxed and had fun.

It’s amazing how much more energy and motivation I have this week! And on top of that, I am now brimming with ideas for products and packaging and such. The down time was totally worth it!
