welcome back! although i had a lovely, restful weekend – how about you? – easter sunday was a blur. i thought i would give you a bit of a picture tour of how my easter weekend unfolded.
my mom got this adorable felt owl feather headband by sleepy king for lola & i to share. love it! and lola actually left it on her head for more than 5 minutes. major bonus.

on friday night, the mister & i indulged in a little movie time and watched the new sherlock holmes. we don’t get the chance for “date night” so rented movies have to do! this one was a fun movie – and at the end of a long week, that’s about all i can handle!

i started my stash busting by adding a little flair to some plain barrettes with yarn pom poms. plus i was able to give lola’s hair a little custom doo dad! look for another yarn stash busting tutorial later this week!
i hope you had a lovely weekend too! i’ll be back later with april’s first sponsor feature and some thoughts on religion & faith as a young adult.

thanks, thea! they’re pysanky eggs – a ukrainian easter tradition
Aww, how sweet is Lola?! Love her little outfit and lamb pail.
thanks, ann!
Oh Lola is SUCH a CUTIE! It looks like she took forever to find those eggs…being engrossed in each new one she found. Those days are over for me…I have 2 big boys racing around the yard, and with one 4 years older than the other I find myself trying my best to keep the little one from not collapsing in tears because the big one is getting all the eggs (although there are PLENTY!) sigh…
Easter was not the most relaxing – hubby returned from a stressful business trip on Saturday and then he had an Easter gig on Sunday morning, so all the holiday prep was up to me, so we kept it pretty low key this year.
I love your stash busting idea…and although I theoretically could play along because right now I have plenty of PFD fabric, dye, thread, interfacing & batting, I wouldn’t truly be using up things that have been hanging around…
I’m off to a busy week!
actually, the egg finding was very fast! but then she would dump them out, scatter them, and go find them all over again. she was a trip!
come on, candy, you could totally bust your stash! why not create one of those pdf patterns and make the sample completely out of what you’ve already got! it’s not so much about recycling/upcycling as it is just about using what you’ve got without the temptation of buying something new.
We watched Sherlock Holmes this weekend too! We thought it was a fun movie
It sounds like you guys had a blast and your photos are gorgeous.
