hello there! i’m evelyn, popping over from my blog oh my word! to say hi and share some my favorite looks for spring 2010. a super huge thanks to tara for letting me hijack scoutie girl for a few posts. i’m super excited to be here and can’t wait to hear what you think!
to me, this spring is all about being a conscious consumer – choosing to support independent designers over the mass-produced, welcoming organic and sustainable fabrics into your daily wear, getting mileage out of what you already own and adding key investment pieces for further versatility in your wardrobe. the looks i’ll be sharing embrace these ideas, while introducing you to some amazing indie designers. enjoy! xo, evelyn
look 1: the lunch date
though i used the idea of a casual lunch date as my inspiration when piecing together this first spring look, this updated classic could take you countless places in style, whether you’re hitting the museum, browsing local shops or meeting up with friends. it’s simply put-together without being stuffy, old-fashioned or age- or shape-specific.
the foundation of this look comes from a few key pieces every wardrobe should have – black flats, a classic trench and your favorite jeans. when completed with a soft, feminine brushed silk blouse with a punchy bow detail, practical and versatile leather tote in a warm, neutral gray and simple, bold accessories, those fashion staples look fresh and modern. the muted palette and breezy fabrics ease you into spring and away from the chunky textures and dark tones of winter without breaking the bank.

- gretel leather tote in graphite – rennes le château

Fantastic post and very inspiring. My friend and amazing stylist colleague and I have been trying to come up with great outfits for photoshoots that get away from the winter shlump. This is very inspiring and I can’t wait to see more!

Evelyn, great post and great pics. You’ve got an eye! I adore that trench coat. Now, if I can convince my other half I need one for spring!
