i find myself unbelievably inspired and in awe of the stunning makeup, styling and photography behind tim burton’s new movie, alice in wonderland. it’s not out for another week yet i have these terrible longing pains every time i think of how badly i want to watch it.
so i went searching. and look what i found…

young photographer brandon christopher warren has inspired me beyond belief. get acquainted with him and his work on flickr, facebook and twitter.
editor’s note: i know a lot of you are inspired by alice in wonderland right now. share your links in the comments!

Aaaaah LOVE IT!!
That is some lush looking photography. Really want a pair of those tights in the 2nd photo too they look great.
Great post Tara! Last week I saw this fantastic rabbit-shaped doormat: http://www.goodmeasureblog.com/home/2010/2/19/i-am-alice.html
Hey Sam! It’s actually Justine’s post (she’s the newest SG contributor). And that door mat is awesome – very versatile and so springy!
I feel the same way you do. I loved the cartoon version of alice in wonderland but i love how Tim Burtons alice in wonderland is kind of like its grown up counter part. I love you way he adds darkness to his movies with out them being depressing and weird. I also love this photography it makes me want to dress up and go frolic in the woods. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Chantelle! You hit the nail on the head re: Burton’s films being dark without being depressing or weird. Well, maybe a little weird, right? Glad you enjoyed Justine’s post!
I am in LOVE with every single thing in these photos! I dream of dressing up in gorgeous dresses and lacy tights, making every watch i can find into a piece of jewelry and having tea in the mysterious and foggy woods. Maybe a bunny will show up?
Beautiful! I’ve been meaning to do a series of illustrations inspired by “Alice in Wonderland” for awhile, perhaps this movie will help me to finally start.
Mmmm, these are great, I love the rich colors…though I wish we could see a little bit of the white rabbit in them too!
I have always loved Alice in Wonderland, especially the books by Lewis Carroll. And those are much darker and weirder than anything Disney ever made, so I too am thrilled and cannot wait to see Tim Burton’s take! I’ve been just waiting for the Ides of March ever since I saw a trailer 6 or so months ago!
Well, I have two offerings of things inspired by Alice and her tumble down the rabbit hole. . .
One is a hand-dyed jersey scarf, from the part of me that is a designer: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=40766427
The other is from the part of me that is a poet! http://outofslumberanddreams.blogspot.com/2010/02/poetry-post-looking-glass.html
I just discovered this blog today through the article in today’s Etsy Success email, and I can’t wait to read more!
hi cyndle! that scarf is so very alice in wonderland. brilliant! and thanks for sharing your poem too!
I have always loved the Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland story, but Through the looking glass is my favourite. I’m so exited about Tim Burton’s film, it is all i can do not to clap with glee whenever i see a poster for it! I recently did a photoshoot for my little etsy store with an alice in wonderland bent, I have been meaning to post all the pictures onto my blog (littleravensworld.wordpress.com) but i have had some technical issues! But you can see some of the photos at this listing http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=41156274

Have a wonderful day!
i loved your blog before but NOW you’ve made my day – wonderful pictures. thank you for making me smile, it’s brought back a very happy childhood memory of a dress my mum made for me when i was about 8 years old, based on alice’s pinafore dress
i’ve just nominated you for the sunshine blog award – check it out at http://soapstarcanada.blogspot.com/2010/02/sunshine-blog-award.html

Thank you for introducing us to this talented artist. I am inspired and enthralled. I want those ‘red shoes’!
Oh these images are so delicious! I never liked the disney version of Alice as a child, and I rediscovered the book in my late teens. Tenniel’s illustrations have such a wonderful weirdness to them that the Disney film just completely missed the spirit of….not so the superbly twisted Burton however! I am drooling with anticipation to get a closer look at the fashion and the environments created for this fantasy of a film. The previews have got my mind simply buzzing with ideas of pretty and fantastic fripperies to make! Thanks so much for sharing these images…I especially adore that first one.
I’m with Chantelle. Hubs and I both are Tim Burton fans, and this movie has us chomping at the bit!
I ran across a few neat things inspired by the topic du jour:

love the photos and those great tights!
What a great post…wow those photos are stunning! I’m on pins & needles waiting to see Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland…if the trailer is any indicator, it looks like it’s going to be incredible and visual eye candy
I keep seeing great alice in wonderland things around now…love the wonderland glasses here:

I am a huge Alice In Wonderland fan. Agree with previous poster about how dark they are, I’m thinking this is one not to take the children to see before vetting it first (and maybe then i’ll get to watch it twice!!) It does make me giggle that Helen Bonham Carter is always in Tim Burton’s stuff, wife’s priviledges I guess.
I have a few items to add into the mix.
This white rabbit necklace is really beautiful

Wild huh? I was impressed!
I can’t wait to see the movie! Our only babysitter is currently unavailabe for a while, so we won’t be seeing it March 5th. All the Alice inspired posts are going to hold be over though…and make me even more excited! It’s going to be a feast for the eyes, I just know it.
I love the little cotton dress with the beige lace detail on it! everything is soo inspiring and wonderful! Beautiful pictures!

delicious, i love it! makes me want to be a pretty GIRL… with just a little something dark.
I absolutely LOVE Brandon’s photos! He takes incredible shots. We’re doing an Alice & Wonderland theme for our daughter’s first birthday and want to do it a bit quirky in a style similar to that of Tim Burton, just not dark. I’ve been finding so much inspiration in photography, and Brandon’s pictures have just given me more ideas! Yay!
…and if I wasn’t going to be running around after a tot on the move, I would so be on a mission for those mary-janes!
Thanks so much for publishing these, all of your kind words mean a lot.
Don’t be late, for all of your oh so important dates,
Brandon Christopher Warren
May I ask about the lightings. do you use one if so where did you position the light
I think it’s interesting to note all the details that have come into this movie.. There are so many intimate details and I really think that its what makes it such a timeless clssic. Beautiful.
