Alexis Russell studied fine arts & jewelry design at Buffalo State College, after which she apprenticed with a jeweler and traveled the world learning her craft. these experiences inform her work, in addition to inspiration from classic modern design, the sensuality of natural elements & the lovely women in her life past and present. she meticulously hand-crafts each piece using the finest metals, semi-precious stones & pearls. i love how her designs are sort of flowing, sort of layered…sort of industrial, sort of sophisticated…sort of bold, sort of understated…sort of simple, sort of intricate – i think all of these descriptors speak to the versatility of her jewelry. good luck in 2009 Alexis!

Gudrun learned to knit from her mum when she was about 5 y.o. She moved from Germany to NY in '96, where she worked/works as a *phenomenal* freelance photographer. Seeking a calming outlet from her daily fast-paced, city street-style photo shoots, she turned to knitting as a hobby. Her busy & inspired hands turn out classic and timeless accessories in various scrumptious soft wools. Custom requests are welcome! Good luck in 2009 Gudrun!
